A former monastery built in 1133, Combermere Abbey is a Grade I listed rural country house situated on the border of Cheshire and Shropshire. Steeped in a thousand years of English history, Combermere Abbey boasts rolling parklands, Victorian walled gardens and ancient woodlands alongside spectacular Gothic architecture, enchanting waters and a breath-taking Edwardian Glasshouse.
Combermere Abbey can be exclusively yours on your special day as you enjoy the romance of the venue with your friends and family. Private and tranquil, you’ll find everything in one enchanting place.
The Edwardian Glasshouse
Amidst the walled gardens of Combermere Abbey, you will find an espaliered fruit tree maze through which a pretty pathway leads to the Edwardian Glasshouse. Light-filled, serene and elegant, it is quite simply the most perfect place to share your vows, seating up to 120 guests for a civil ceremony. Afterwards, you can enjoy your drinks reception inside or step out of the double doors in to the centre of the maze and the gardens beyond.
The Victorian Walled Garden Pavilion
Standing majestically in the Middle-Walled Garden, The Pavilion was designed entirely with weddings in mind. With a well-stocked bar, dining area and dance floor, it is an exceptional space for your wedding breakfast. The Pavilion is a blank canvas, meaning you can add your own colour scheme and style. Glass doors open up on to a generous terrace with the gardens and lawns perfect for photo opportunities.
On warmer days, experience the delight of tying the knot outside. You might choose to say ‘I do’ in the centre of the fruit tree maze or perhaps have a more intimate ceremony under the charming garden arbour.
