Domaine de l’Abbaye is a private estate on the Normandy coast, set above the beach at Deauville. Two houses stand in the park: the Abbaye, with its reception rooms and two dining rooms, and the Cloitre, with its own entrance and a more intimate rhythm.
The beauty of the estate is in its sense of seclusion. Behind the walls, the gardens become your own private world, while the sea is always close by. Follow the garden down to the gate and you arrive directly on the sand, making it easy to slip away for a quiet walk along the beach or take photographs with the Normandy coastline stretching out behind you.
Ceremonies take place on the lawn above the beach, where the sea becomes the backdrop to your vows. Afterwards, guests can gather across the gardens and terraces, moving naturally between the houses, the lawn and the coastline as the day unfolds. It is a setting that feels elegant without being overly formal, with the landscape doing much of the work.
The entire estate is yours for the celebration. Only one wedding takes place at a time, with no other guests or events sharing the grounds while you are there. Your set-up can remain in place from build to strike, giving you the freedom to settle into the weekend and create a celebration that feels entirely your own.
The scale of the wedding can be shaped around your guest list, from an intimate dinner for forty across the Abbaye’s two dining rooms to larger celebrations of up to 250 guests beneath a marquee on the level ground. Whatever the size, Domaine de l’Abbaye offers something increasingly rare: a beautiful private setting where the house, gardens and sea all belong to one wedding.

Weddings at Domaine de l’Abbaye
The minimum stay is three nights, four with a marquee, so a wedding here is a weekend rather than a day. Guests settle in, the estate is yours throughout, and the morning after there is brunch in the park. Pool, sauna, gym and tennis court are on site, and the garden gate opens onto the beach.
Ceremonies are held on the lawn above the beach, facing the sea. French civil marriage requires local residency, so most international couples marry legally at home and hold a celebrant ceremony here.
The number of guests decides the format. Forty sit down in the two dining rooms of the Abbaye, seventy are received standing indoors or on the terraces, and above that a marquee goes up on the level ground, up to two hundred and fifty. One wedding at a time, never two in a weekend.
Free choice of caterer, and two kitchens are set up for outside teams. We also keep a network of caterers, florists and marquee companies who already know the site; couples use it or bring their own. Venue prices are net, with no planner commission and no mark-up.
Thirty guests sleep on the estate, in fifteen bedrooms across two houses: the Abbaye and the Cloitre, which has its own entrance. Accommodation is included in the hire for the whole period. Deauville and Trouville are five minutes away for the rest of the party.

- The estate is on the Normandy coast at Deauville, two hours from Paris by road. Deauville Normandie airport is twenty minutes away and takes private aircraft; Charles de Gaulle is two hours thirty. The train from Paris Saint-Lazare reaches Trouville-Deauville in about two hours, five minutes from the gate. Deauville and Trouville are five minutes away for guests sleeping off site, and shuttles are straightforward to arrange.
