The venue

Our Council Chamber at the front of the building, accessed via our opulent marble staircase, is a timeless event space.

Light, spacious and versatile. Whilst our Grand Hall, restored after a devestating fire in 2015, boasts a private entrance, stunning lattice ceiling and mosaic-domed entrance hall.

We offer a personal approach when it comes to planning your wedding. Our experienced team are on hand to help manage your big day from start to finish. Our in-house caterers pride themselves on creating lovingly prepared menus to fit with the vision and feel of your special day.

The Ceremony

Our Grand Hall, Octagonal Hall, Council Chamber and Members’ Library are all licensed for civil weddings and ceremonies.

The Foyer at the heart of the building is also popular for couples wanting an unusual wedding venue where they can get married on the beautiful marble staircase before their reception in the Council Chamber or Grand Hall.

Council Chamber – 160 seated ceremony
Members Library – 40 or 60 standing ceremony
Staircase– 118 seated ceremony

Either hold your wedding ceremony offsite or get married in one of our beautiful spaces, before arriving in style at your destination reception.

Both Council Chamber and Grand Hall come as a package including adjacent rooms which allow couples to be creative with where they dance, drink and dine.

Stressful process and a thrown away cake

We had our wedding at BAC in December 2021, we had a beautiful day and the venue was a stunning back drop.
However, the service was rather disappointing from the beginning. Email responses were very slow, even leading up to weeks before the wedding. Flexibility was challenging with a few hidden costs for extra features, which was frustrating considering the hire of the venue alone is quite pricey. On the day of the wedding adults were served their food first, which left children waiting for theirs, this was quite frustrating because on the day of your wedding you just want everything to run smoothly. Also we paid for bread for the tables, but there was no bread. At the end of the night the events manager ensured me that the rest of the cake would be in the fridge for us to collect the next day, as well as the rest of the flowers that we had paid a lot of money for. When my Dad arrived the next day to collect the flowers and the cake, they had been chucked away; which was very disheartening and upsetting. Following on from this the events team at battersea denied that they had thrown them away and accused us of agreeing to throw the cake away. I don't know anyone who would agree to throw a £500 cake away. To add, I handmade table numbers by pressing flowers in small glass frames, at the end of the night whilst they were packing away, I walked into the back room to collect our things only to find all the table numbers I had spent weeks making smashed all over the floor :( It is these reasons that I would not recommend battersea arts centre as a wedding venue, as the whole organisational process was very stressful and they were irresponsible with our cake and flowers.

One month on and we still can’t stop smiling about it, and those memories are forever. We are so so glad we booked our wedding at BAC. The whole day was absolutely magical, the place looked incredible and everything went so smoothly. The staff were attentive, friendly, and bent over backwards for us, so thank you!
