Maël and Vlad’s wedding at Domaine de Blanche Fleur was a vibrant celebration of spirit, ancestry, and joyful creativity.

A Provencal Wedding with Personality

Set on a late May day, their story unfolded across the calm beauty of Provence, beginning with an elegant civil ceremony at the Mairie of Avignon. Maël stepped into the town hall in a striking red gown, while Vlad wore his Arts & Métiers uniform, a tradition deeply tied to the school’s heritage. Several guests, also alumni, arrived in their own uniforms, creating a moment filled with pride and history.

From there, the celebration moved to Blanche Fleur, a former mill surrounded by the gentle flow of the Sorgue River, ancient stones, and scented gardens. The estate offered a tapestry of different spaces that suited every chapter of their wedding, from quiet corners to expansive greenery. For Maël and Vlad, this place felt close to the elements and alive with symbolism. They chose it for its flowers, its calm, and the warmth of a team that held their vision with care.

Their ceremony drew inspiration from Bealtaine, honouring union, seasonal renewal, and the unseen threads that connect people across generations. Guests gathered in the shade of cypress and olive trees as the couple entered a sacred space shaped by intention.

A handfasting tied their hands together with a blessed cord. Ribbons spiralled around the maypole as everyone danced in bright, whirling colour. And inside the chapel, aligned with the path of the sun, Maël and Vlad shared mead as an offering of prosperity and devotion. It was tender, ancient, joyful, and full of meaning.

The celebration carried into the evening with country style florals scattered along the dining tables, the soft shimmer of Maël’s exquisitely detailed veil, and a carefree atmosphere that matched the couple’s fun loving spirit. Every detail reflected who they are. Every moment felt connected to the land, their people, and the long story they share.

Bride Maël shares:

“Our wedding was more than a celebration of love for us, it was also a sacred rite of passage for our couple. We had been together 15 years, by that point we were already very much married in our mind, and so we wanted our ceremony to honour not only our bond and history with one another, but also our guests, witnesses, family and loved ones, our ancestors, the land beneath our feet, and the lands we came from – a continuum of love and lineage greater than ourselves and rooted in relationship and reciprocity.

Rather than simply marking a milestone, we sought to create a ritual space where the visible and invisible realms could meet. The ceremony was held in May and drew deeply from the spirit and customs surrounding Bealtaine, the spring seasonal festival that celebrates union, fertility, and the returning light of summer. Each rite was chosen with care, woven together to form a tapestry of meaning that reflected our beliefs, our love, and our gratitude for the community surrounding us.

Blanche Fleur provides different spaces that gave depth and breath to the whole scope of our needs, from the courtyard to the garden and the Orangerie to the swimming pool, and we used them all.

Our wedding was honestly incredible and we had a ton of fun!”
