We feature the wedding of Claire & David, one of the first to be enjoyed in the unique new venue Thorpe Gardens. The day was beautifully captured last August by documentary wedding photographer The Last of the Light

Staffordshire Countryside wedding

Being the newest addition to the Cripps & co portfolio of stunning wedding venues, Thorpe Garden had a lot to live up to and the architectural ceremony building, quirky yurt and beautiful concealed walled garden certainly didn’t disappoint. It’s easy to understand why Claire & David choose this unique venue with views across the Staffordshire countryside.

Their intimate ceremony was held in the minimalist sloped-roof building with views out onto the Victorian walled garden followed by wedding breakfast in the very unique hand-crafted yurt which was elegantly dressed with wildflowers and natural foliage.

Thorpe Garden’s immaculate lawns and full flower beds provided backdrops for quintessentially English wedding photography alongside the countryside’s amazing views. Celebrations went into the evening as the yurt was transformed to accomadate a dramatic dancefloor for Claire & David and their loved ones to enjoy into the night.

Wedding Photographer Darren The Last of the Light gave us his words on Claire & David’s wedding;

‘This was a wonderful wedding to work on for many reasons. I instantly connected to the couple, Claire & David from our very first meeting. They were very excited, as was I to be landing one of the very first weddings for the highly respected Cripps chains latest venture. Having worked with the guys at many other Cripps venues, I knew exactly what to expect; a perfectly run day, with everyone including the suppliers made to feel at home with all guests being spoilt with an amazing banquet and plenty of fizz. The day did not disappoint.’
