A jet setting duo longing for a peaceful wedding nestled in nature, Carolina and Jeremy remarkably centred their celebrations around one of the most beautiful settings in Portugal- the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Douro region.

After only three days of meeting on holiday in Okinawa, Japan, Carolina and Jeremy knew they had to keep seeing each other. Coinciding with Carolina’s airline work, they spent two years meeting whenever and wherever they could; New York, LA, Paris, Nice, Dubai, DC and Portugal.

When it came to deciphering the location for their wedding, they chose Douro region to be the welcoming card to Carolina’s home country. Many of Jeremy’s friends and family had never been to Portugal and the World Heritage site sounded like the perfect introduction to Portuguese culture.

The couple immediately fell in love with their venue- in fact before they had even got out of the car! We can’t blame them as The Vintage House Hotel‘s setting is simply exquisite, surrounded by vineyards and the Douro River, the boutique hotel retains a peaceful, renewing atmosphere which proved ideal for Carolina and Jeremy’s fun-filled wedding stay…

“We used mostly all local vendors and suppliers for our flower arrangements, cake, guest favours, and our wine was supplied by Palmeirim d’Inglaterra, a family owned business in Portugal.

All of our guests stayed at the Hotel with us across a long weekend,  so we didn’t have to use any transport to get people from place to place, it was lovely to be able to spend time with everyone for more then just the wedding day itself.” Bride, Carolina.
