In a sophisticated setting, high up in the historic village of Gordes is where Mark and Julia decided to host their wedding celebrations last September. The former stately home of La Bastide de Gordes offered elegant backdrops overlooking the French green hills of Luberon.

Elegant French stately home wedding

Opting for one of the most beautiful regions in France to say their vows allowed Mark and Julia to immerse themselves into the French tradition of tasty cuisine and the relaxed alfresco atmosphere. The historic architecture against pristine gardens and natural scenery made the most enviable wedding photos.

Their special day was captured by award winning destination wedding photographer Damion Mower Photography who travels the world with his natural, elegant and creative style.

Over to photographer Damion to talk us through the day.

“When I received the enquiry for Mark and Julia’s wedding I was thrilled, Bastide de Gordes is a magnificent vista to shoot a wedding against and the hotel offers the best place in town to secure an un spoilt view of Provence.

Mark and Julia are a super lovely couple, very much in love and very relaxed in each others company. They were looking for a documentary style to their photography, capturing friends and family enjoying the location, scenery and weather.

Having decided on Gordes they wanted their images to reflect the location and capture the essence of the town and it’s beautiful streets and view”.

Choosing France as the location for your destination wedding is an excellent choice, not only does the country offer the most spectacular backdrops as Mark & Julia’s big day has proved but your desired venue could range from a charming Chateau to a private stately home or even the most quaint of Farmhouses.
